It is an annual or perennial herbaceous plant that grows up to 30 - 50 cm in height. Extracts many cylindrical branched stems.

The leaves are interchangeable, round and serrate with up to 3 cm.

The flowers are more or less large, with 1-2 cm long, in a purple pink that come out of the lateral bud.

The cup consists of longitudinal leaves with 5 triangular shaped rings. The cup has 5 petals. There is a lot of fringe.

The fruits are pubescent, yellow to greyish brown, about 8 mm in diameter. They consist of 9-11 seeds.
